The Texas A&M baseball team achieved its highest ranking since 1999 when the Aggies moved up two spots to No. 6 in the USA Today/ESPN and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association top 25 polls, both released Monday.

The last time A&M was No. 6 or higher in the polls was May 24, 1999, when Collegiate Baseball ranked the Aggies sixth. That same week, Baseball America (No. 2) and USA Today (No. 5) both had the team in the top five.

A&M (33-7, 15-3 Big 12) is in first place in the league standings. The Aggies have matched a school record by winning their last 12 conference games and have swept four straight conference series for the first time since 1971.

A&M begins a four-game homestand on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. against Texas State (23-14) before playing host to Missouri (28-10) this weekend.
