Peck helps Aggies finished fifth: BREMERTON, Wash. -- Freshman Cameron Peck closed with an even-par 72 on Monday to lead No. 12 Texas A&M to a fifth-place finish at the Ping-Golfweek Preview at Gold Mountain Golf Club's Olympic Course.

Peck's effort helped A&M post a final-round 293, the second-best score of the day behind top-ranked Oklahoma State's 285. The Cowboys cruised to a 22-stroke victory with a 54-hole score of 862. No. 2 Washington was second at 884. A&M finished ahead of six nationally-ranked teams.

Peck placed fifth in his second collegiate start with rounds of 76-71-72--219 to finish eight strokes behind individual winner Peter Uihlein of Oklahoma State.

A&M sophomore Geoff Shaw tied for 12th (72-76-74--222). Junior Conrad Shindler shot 228, a shot ahead of senior Andrea Pavan. Junior John Hurley posted a 235.

The Aggies' next action comes at the Lone Star Championship, Oct. 18-19 in San Antonio.

SOCCER

Aggies host clinic: The 10th-ranked Texas A&M soccer team will hold a free youth clinic Tuesday for all those who participate in the U-9, U-10 and U-12 divisions.

Aggie soccer head coach G. Guerrieri will also conduct a coaches' clinic on goalkeeping.

The clinic begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Aggie Soccer Stadium and will last one hour. Each participant must bring their own soccer ball and shin guards. Water will be provided.

Guerrieri, his coaching staff and the A&M soccer team conduct the clinic. Parking is available in lot 100j.
