Aggies to compete at Tar Heel Invitational: CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The No. 19 Texas A&M women's golf team will compete in the 34th annual Tar Heel Invitational starting Friday at the University of North Carolina's Finley Golf Course.
The 54-hole tournament will continue through Sunday. Live scoring is available online at www.golfstat.com.
The 18-team field includes 10 teams ranked among the Top 25 nationally by Golfweek. Playing for the Aggies will be senior transfer Julia Boland, senior Ashley Freeman, junior Sarah Zwartynski and freshmen Sarah Beth Davis and Chloe Garner.

Three Aggies advance at ITA All-American Championships: TULSA, Okla. -- The Texas A&M men's tennis team had three players move past the opening round of the main draw of singles and doubles at the 2009 D'Novo/ITA Men's All-American Championships held Thursday night at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Junior newcomer Jeff Dadamo extended his tournament win streak to four-straight matches with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over No. 35-ranked Yoann Re of Virginia Tech.
Junior All-American Austin Krajicek drew a long three-set match against ninth-ranked Sanam Singh in the first round, but came up short in the third-set tiebreaker 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3).
In doubles play, Krajicek combined with junior Alexey Grigorov for an 8-3 opening-round victory over No. 26-ranked Chase Buchanan and Justin Kronauge of Ohio State. The Aggie duo, ranked 19th nationally, will face fifth-seeded and eighth-ranked Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher of Stanford at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the round of 16.

Lucas among trio selected as Bowerman finalists: Texas A&M sprinter Porscha Lucas is one of three finalists for The Bowerman, an award recognizing the best collegiate women's track and field athlete, The Bowerman Advisory Board announced Thursday.
Texas high jumper Destinee Hooker and Colorado distance runner Jennifer Barringer were also selected as finalists.
