Aggies prepare for evening Invitational: The Texas A&M cross country team will host a dozen ranked teams from the South Central region in the Texas A&M Invitational on Friday.
The event will start at 6:30 p.m. on the Penberthy Intramural fields. High school action is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. on the course.
The university division currently has the following college teams entered in the meet: Baylor, Rice, Sam Houston, SMU women, Stephen F. Austin, Texas women, and Texas State. Other teams entered include: Huston-Tillotson, Incarnate Word, Northwood, and St. Edward's.
Pre-season cross country rankings were released this week on the national and regional levels and the Aggie men occupy the No. 26 spot in the USTFCCCA national rankings. In the South Central region rankings Texas A&M men are No. 2 while the Aggie women rank No. 4.

Former Aggies participate in USL W-League Combine: TAMPA, Fla. -- Former Texas A&M soccer players Paige Charmichael, Allison Martino and Ashlee Pistorius recently participated in the United Soccer Leagues W-League Combine at the Ed Radice Sports Complex in Tampa.
The former Aggies were three of 128 elite players that showcased their talent for Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) and other professional scouts and coaches.
The combine consisted of invited elite W-League players (Martino and Pistorius) as well as those selected from an open application process (Carmichael) and was part of a process to identify players for WPS.
