Final round rained out: Sunday's final round of the 16th Texas A&M MoMorial Invitational at Traditions Club was canceled because of rain. Saturday's second round also was rained out, reducing the 54-hole event to Friday's opening round.

A&M won the 11-team tournament with a 290. Aggie newcomers Julia Boland and Sarah Beth Davis shared individual honors after each fired a 2-under-par 70.

Lapierre wins long jump: THESSALONIKI, GREECE -- Former Texas A&M standout Fabrice Lapierre defended his long jump title at the World Athletics Final with a jump of 27 feet, 4 inches on Sunday.

The wind-aided distance on his final attempt lifted him from seventh place to earn $30,000 in the Grand Prix's last event of the season.

A&M volunteer assistant coach Wallace Spearmon placed second in the 200-meter dash in 20.21 seconds behind world record holder Usain Bolt, who matched the meet record of 19.68. Spearmon earned $20,000.
