Davis' 72 leads Aggies at Invitational: CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Texas A&M freshman Sarah Beth Davis fired an even-par 72 on Friday and the 19th-ranked Aggie women's golf team is in a tie for 14th place after the opening round of the Tar Heel Invitational at North Carolina's Finley Golf Course.
A&M shot 304 and trails leader Michigan State by 19 strokes going into Saturday's second round. The final round is Sunday. Live scoring is available online at www.golfstat.com.
Davis is tied for 13th in the individual standings, just three shots behind leader Laura Kueny (69) of Michigan State.
A&M seniors Ashley Freeman (76) and Julia Boland (76) are tied for 42nd, while junior Sarah Zwartynski (80) is tied for 80th and freshman Chloe Garner (81) is tied for 83rd.
TENNIS
Aggies eliminated from All-American: TULSA -- Texas A&M junior Jeff Dadamo and the doubles team of juniors Austin Krajicek and Alexey Grigorov were knocked out of the ITA All-American on Friday.
Dadamo lost to Virginia's Michael Shabaz 6-4, 6-2 in the round of 32, while Krajicek and Grigorov lost 8-1 to Stanford's Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher in the round of 16.

Aggies reach second round at UTSA: SAN ANTONIO -- Texas A&M junior Kayvon Karimi beat Tyler Junior College's Pier Pieracciani 6-3, 6-4 in the first round but lost to Texas-San Antonio's Ashwin Vijayaragavan 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 on Friday at the UTSA Invitational.
A&M junior Patrick Dean beat Texas-Pan American's Beau Bernstein 6-1, 6-1 in the first round.
