Aggie women sign two recruits: Natalie Reeves of Euless and Chelsea Mocio of Fort Worth have signed national letters of intent to play at Texas A&M.
Reeves was the Class 5A state runner-up as a junior at Trinity last spring. She advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2007 and 2008 Texas Women's Amateur Championships and participated in the 2008 U.S. Women's Public Links. Reeves also qualified for the 2008 and 2009 U.S. Girls Junior Championship and is ranked No. 91 nationally by Golfweek.
Mocio won the Class 4A state championship last spring as a junior at Arlington Heights. She has six Top 10 finishes in AJGA events and qualified for the 2009 U.S. Girls Junior Championship.
SOCCER
Three Aggies earn national honors: Three players from the No. 22 Texas A&M soccer team earned national honors this week from TopDrawerSoccer.com (TDS) and CollegeSoccer360.com (CS360).
Senior Emily Peterson was selected as a CS360 Primetime Performer of the Week, while junior Rachel Shipley was named honorable mention on the TDS Women's College Soccer Team of the Season and freshman Mary Grace Schmidt was recognized on the TDS All-Rookie second team.
VOLLEYBALL
Aggies named Academic All-Big 12: Four members of the Texas A&M volleyball team were named to the 2009 Academic All-Big 12 team.
Sarah Ammerman, Jola Kelner and Chelsea Ringel made the first team. Mary Batis was named to the second team for the third consecutive year.
First team members must have a 3.20 or better grade-point average, while the second team members must be above 3.00.
The Aggies (14-10, 7-9 Big 12) will face Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
