Chalk Talk for Women set for July 27: A Chalk Talk for Women featuring Texas A&M head football coach Mike Sherman and his staff is set for July 27 at The Zone.
Cost is $50 for the dinner and talk which will start at 5 p.m. with doors opening an hour earlier.

Former A&M great McFalls joins USA coaching staff: OKLAHOMA CITY -- Former Texas A&M All-American shortstop and assistant coach Jennifer McFalls accepted a coaching position with the USA national team, the Amateur Softball Association of America announced.
McFalls replaced Barb Jordan and is coaching at the Canadian Open Fast Pitch International Championship in Surrey, B.C., with exhibition games set for Tuesday and Wednesday in Whitehorse, Yukon.
McFalls, A&M's starting shortstop from 1991-94 who led the team in batting average, hits, total bases and slugging percentage all four seasons, competed for USA from 1994-2000. She scored the winning run in USA's 2-1 victory over Japan in the gold medal game at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Aggies strike gold at U-23 meet: MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Texas A&M's Jeneba Tarmoh and Curtis Mitchell won gold medals in the 400-meter relays Saturday at the North American, Central American, Caribbean Under-23 Championships.
Mitchell also became the second Aggie and the 25th American to bust 20 seconds in the 200. Mitchell ran a 19.99 in the preliminaries to join Floyd Heard as the only Aggie to break 20.0. Heard owns the school record of 19.95 set at the 1987 Southwest Conference Championships in Lubbock.
Tarmoh led off for the United States in the women's 400 relay, joining Oregon's Amber Purvis, Baylor's Tiffany Townsend and LSU's Kenyanna Wilson to finish in 43.07. Jamaica took second at 44.20 with the Bahamas (46.82) in third.
Tarmoh also won the women's 100 on Friday.
Mitchell ran the anchor leg on the U.S. team of Hinds Junior College's Fred Rose and Florida State's Brandon Byram and Maurice Mitchell to win the men's 400 relay. The U.S. won in 38.96 ahead of Jamaica (39.36).
