Aggies set to compete at NCAA Indoor meet: FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Thirteen Aggies will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships at the University of Arkansas on Friday and Saturday.
"We are taking enough people to be successful," Texas A&M head coach Pat Henry said. "If everybody on each side does what they are capable of doing, I think both teams have the opportunity to be successful."
The fifth-ranked Aggie women's team has six athletes qualified for six events, including Simone Facey (60-meter dash, 200, 1,600 relay), Porscha Lucas (60, 200), Jessica Beard (400, 1,600 relay), Jennifer Williams (60 hurdles, 1,600 relay), Ashika Charan (triple jump) and Sandy Wooten (1600 relay). A&M's Allison George is an alternated for the 1,600 relay.
For the 23rd-ranked A&M men, seven Aggies will compete in five events. The group includes Justin Oliver, Chris Dykes, Nick Robinson and A.C. Robinson in the 1,600 relay, Gerald Phiri in the 60, Julian Reid in the long jump and triple jump) and Zuheir Sharif in the triple jump.
Dykes also will compete in the 200, while Morquise Cleveland is A&M's alternate in the men's 1,600 relay.
