Lee was third at 11.13 seconds in a quarterfinal heat Sunday to reach Monday's second semifinal.

Aggie sprinters Gerald Phiri and Tyrone Edgar each reached the 100-meter semifinals but didn't qualify for the finals where Usain Bolt of Jamaica ran a world-record 9.58 and American Tyson Gay lowered his national record to 9.71 for second.

Edgar was disqualified for a false start on the second attempt to get the first semifinal heat started. Phiri was seventh in the second heat (10.19).

Aggie Jessica Beard was fifth in the first 400-meter semifinal (49.88), failing to advance. In triple jump qualifying, Aggie Julian Reid, went 54 feet, 1.25 inches to place 14th in group A, but his 53-10.25 in the next round wasn't good enough to advance.
