Aggie women finish 15th in Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. -- The Texas A&M women's golf team closed with a 319 on Sunday and finished 15th at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Club.

Tenth-ranked Georgia (900) defeated No. 8 Purdue (900) on the second hole of a playoff to capture the title.

Purdue's Christel Boeljon (74-75-69--218) and Maria Hernandez (76-74-68--218) tied for top individual honors.

Freshman Sarah Zwartynski led A&M in 24th place (77-77-78--232), while sophomore Danielle McVeigh tied for 43rd (77-79-80--236). Sophomore Ashley Freeman tied for 56th (80-78-80--238), junior Lauren Johnson tied for 77th (83-79-81--243) and junior Jodi Neal was 94th (87-94-82--263).

The Aggies will compete next at the PING/Arizona State Invitational April 4-6 in Tempe, Ariz. The Big 12 Championship is set for April 25-27 in Stillwater, Okla.
