Aggie women's point guard didn't tear ACL

Eagle Staff Report

The Texas A&M women's basketball team received good news Wednesday when doctors found junior point guard Sydney Colson had not re-injured the anterior cruiciate ligament in her right knee.

A&M women's head coach Gary Blair made the announcement.

Colson did, however, tear the lateral meniscus in her knee when she fell during Tuesday night's 108-49 victory over North Texas at Reed Arena. She will wear a brace, which she did last season after having surgery on her torn ACL and meniscus in June 2008. A&M's medical staff will monitor Colson's knee daily, and she should return to action as her symptoms improve, said A&M team doctor J.P. Bramhall.

Colson won't practice Thursday but is expected to do light drills Friday, Blair said. A&M plays at Texas Christian on Saturday.
