Los Angeles, Calif. -- The Texas A&M track team closed out the UCLA Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational with five gold medals and eight top collegiate finishes Saturday at Drake Stadium.
Julian Reid won the triple jump in a battle with teammate Zuheir Sharif. Reid took the gold with a leap of 54 feet, 3 3/4 inches, while Sharif trailed him at 53-10
A&M's men's 1,600-meter relay team of Justin Oliver, A.C. Robinson, Nick Robinson and Bryan Miller won in 3:05.07. Robinson also won the 400 in 45.97, while Porscha Lucas won the women's 200 (22.99) and Jessica Beard won the women's 400 (52.04).
A&M earned the top collegiate finishes in the men's 400 relay, women's 400 relay and women's 1,600 relay. Jennifer Williams had the top collegiate finish in the 100 and 300 hurdles, while Simone Facey was the top collegian in the women's 100.
