WACO -- Brandon Belt and Preston Clark combined for six RBIs and Chance Ruffin struck out 11 Baylor batters as Texas beat the Bears 12-1 on Friday.
Belt went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and two runs scored. Clark went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs. David Hernandez was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and scored a run.
Texas (28-18, 11-11 Big 12) put together a four-run fifth inning, a three-run seventh and outhit Baylor 16-7.
Chance Ruffin (6-3) went the distance, giving up one unearned run on seven hits. He walked just two.
Baylor starter Kendal Volz (3-5) took the loss, surrendering one run on three hits over three innings. He struck out seven and walked one.
Beamer Weems went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Bears (27-21, 9-13).
In other Big 12 action, Buck Afenir hit a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Kansas a 17-15 win over Oklahoma, handing coach Ritch Price his 200th victory at the school.
Afenir's hit scored Casey Larson and John Allman and capped a six-run rally for Kansas (27-22, 6-13 in Big Eight Conference).
Oklahoma (29-18-1, 6-12-1) went ahead 11-5 after a seven-run fifth inning, led by Spencer Selby's grand slam.
Preston Land hit a solo homer for Kansas and Jimmy Waters had a three-run home run and a two-run double.
Price is in his sixth year at Kansas and is now the third baseball coach to win 200 games at the university.
In the other Big 12 game Friday, Missouri beat Kansas State 13-10.
