Brenham 55, Houston Westbury 6

HOUSTON -- Brenham sophomore Troy Green returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns and added an 8-yard touchdown run as the Brenham Cubs defeated Houston Westbury 55-6 on Friday night at Butler Stadium.

Junior quarterback Ty Schlottmann threw three touchdown passes, giving him seven in two games, and placekicker Tanner Schmidt booted field goals of 34 and 39 yards as the defending regional finalist Cubs jumped out to a 38-7 halftime lead.

Westbury finished with 109 total yards, with most of that yardage coming in the fourth quarter after the game was well in hand.

Brenham defensive end Kenneth Allen recovered an errant deep snap in the end zone for a touchdown, and Terrell Reese, Derek Edwards and Travis Pearce each caught touchdown passes for the Cubs.

Brenham is set to play Houston Lamar in Brenham on Friday.
