Bryan sophomore guard J-Mychal Reese is a repeat selection on the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 2009-10 All-State team.
Reese, the only freshman on the team of 20 players in Class 5A last year, was honored this time for a season in which he averaged 18.7 points, 5.4 assists, four rebounds and three steals per game as Bryan again advanced to the regional quarterfinals.
Reese was one of four players from the Brazos Valley included on TABC teams, which were released Tuesday.
Class A Division I Region IV finalist Mumford was represented by Eric Corona. The senior was also an All-State player his junior season.
D. Ray Morgan, who played for Mumford's District 26-A rival Bremond, also made the All-State team. Morgan scored 24.2 points, grabbed 8.9 rebounds, had 3.5 assists and tallied 2.3 steals per game. He was selected All-Region for the third consecutive year as well.
Calvert junior Blair Bunns was All-State in Class A Division II.
Each of the All-State players had to first be selected to their All-Region team, and the Brazos Valley was well represented there. A&M Consolidated senior center Kevin Jefferson joined Reese on that unit.
District 24-3A had five players make the Region III team. Rudder's Marquis Taylor was the only sophomore on that squad, which also included Rockdale senior William McQuitter, Navasota junior Jersey Gates, Madisonville junior Jesse Corrington and Taylor senior Mark Jackson.
Class 4A Region IV semifinalist Brenham had two players on the All-Region team -- senior Terrell Reese and junior Chris Hull.
Calvert's Andre Ross Jr. and the Burton duo of junior Gabriel Patterson and sophomore Xavier Bethany were chosen for the Class A Division II Region IV team.
Milano senior Sam Walker and Mumford's Luke Scamardo were on the Class A Division I Region IV team, along with Snook senior Jordan Hejl.
