Johnson thrives against Cyclones: Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson had his second consecutive big game against Iowa State. The junior threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score, finishing with 234 yards through the air by completing 23 of 28 passes. In two games against the Cyclones, Johnson has completed 54 of 67 passes for 615 yards and produced eight touchdowns.
*
Making a good first-half impression: The Aggies scored touchdowns on all three of their first-half possessions. A&M matched its season high by scoring 14 points in the first quarter, which the Aggies also scored against Utah State.
*
Miller back at it: A&M junior Von Miller, who came into the game as the national leader in quarterback sacks, trapped the ISU quarterback behind the line one time to increase his season total to 13.5.
*
Second century: A&M sophomore running back Cyrus Gray delivered his second consecutive 100-yard rushing game. Gray gained 119 yards on 21 carries. The previous week he ran for 131 against Texas Tech.
*
Comfortable margin: The 35-10 decision was A&M's largest margin of victory in a Big 12 game since beating Oklahoma Sate 62-23 in 2005. It was the first time the Aggies have recorded 20-point victories in conference play since beating Baylor and Kansas in 2002.
*
A rare day off: The Aggies did not punt for the first time in 30 games going back to a 54-17 victory over Louisiana-Monroe in 2007.
*
Backup plays well: ISU quarterback Jerome Tiller set career records for attempts and completions when he hit 18 of 27 passes for 155 yards.
*
Middle linebacker Jesse Smith had 13 tackles, the sixth consecutive game that he has had at least 10 tackles. Smith began the day as the Big 12's tackle leader with 87.
*
Bo Williams ran 44 yards to the Texas A&M 13, setting up Tiller to rush for Iowa State's only touchdown. That was the first play for Williams as a Cyclones' player.
*
Free safety James Smith forced a fumble for the fourth time in his career, but the first time this season. Cornerback Leonard Johnson had his fourth career fumble recovery.
*
Tiller was sacked twice. Entering the Texas A&M game, Iowa State quarterbacks had been sacked just four times, which led the nation.
*
ISU dropped to 1-4 all-time at Kyle Field and 1-9 overall against Texas A&M. The Aggies have never lost in Ames, Iowa. A&M won the only bowl meeting between the teams, 28-12, in the 1978 Hall of Fame Bowl.
