Gatesville 35, Cameron 27

GATESVILLE -- The Cameron Yoemen scored twice in the final 7 seconds Friday but couldn't catch the Gatesville Hornets.

Yoemen running back James Wells scored on a 1-yard rush with 7 seconds remaining in the game. After the Yoemen recovered the ensuing onside kick, quarterback Steven Townsend completed a 48-yard Hail Mary pass to receiver Brandon Freeman as time expired.

Gatesville scored first when quarterback Jake Truss completed a 1-yard pass to receiver Ross Wallace. The teams then traded a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, including a 77-yard touchdown pass by Townsend to Dave Brown and a 79-yard kickoff return by Wells.

Townsend led Cameron with 234 passing yards and 40 rushing yards, Wells was the top rusher with 93 yards on the ground, and Brown topped the receivers with 120 yards.

The Yoemen host Lexington for their Homecoming next Friday.
