Texas A&M's Pat Henry was named the NCAA Division I men's national head coach of the year and the Aggies' Jim VanHootegem was named the national assistant of the year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Friday.

The two helped A&M win its first NCAA Division I men's outdoor track and field national championship last weekend in Arkansas.

VanHootegem is A&M's jump/multi event coach.
