SMITHVILLE -- Xavier Ward scored twice, and Josh Murray scored a key third-quarter touchdown to lift Lexington to a 21-13 victory over Smithville on Friday.
Down 7-0 after the first quarter, Lexington tied the game on Ward's 25-yard return of a fumble recovery with 3:12 left in the second quarter. Ward scored again on a 1-yard run in the third, and Murray later added a 41-yard TD run to give the Eagles a two-score lead.
Murray finished with 63 yards on 17 carries.
Lexington's defense held Smithville to 93 yards, including minus-44 rushing.
