Bryan North 14, Bryan Bonham 13: In a game that took two days because of a weather suspension, Bryan North scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Bryan Bonham 14-13 on Thursday.

The game began Wednesday and was suspended in the second inning with Bonham leading 5-4.

When the game resumed, North built a 12-5 lead, but Bonham fought back to go ahead 13-12. North rallied in the last inning on hits by Caleb Jackson, Sam Oppersteny and Drew Pullen. Pinch runner Jacob Stehle scored the winning run.

Reliever Andy Smith struck out the last four Bonham hitters to get the win.

Caleb Phillips went 3 for 4 to lead the North offense, while C.B. Kopf, Oppersteny and Pullen each had two hits. Christian Ely, Seth Sadtler, Andy Smith, Chase Hillman and Jay Montoya also had hits.

In an earlier game, North beat Hearne 10-0 on Tuesday as Oppersteny and Phillips combined on a no-hitter. Kopf, Smith, and Oppersteny each two hits and scored two runs.

Bonham wins, advances in bracket play: The Bryan Bonham Junior Little League team is two wins away from a District 33 title after beating Madisonville 10-3 late Thursday night at Bryan East.

Bonham's Ian Thomasson picked up the victory, striking out six. Bryan Kubicek and Austin Hayes both had doubles for Bonham, with Hayes driving in two runs.

Bonham will face the winner of Bryan West and Bryan North at 6 p.m. Sunday.

North wins rain suspended game: The Bryan North Major Boys beat College Station American 18-1 in four innings Friday night at North in a continuation of Wednesday's game that was suspended due to lightning in the top of the third inning.

North's Justin Duewall went 4 for 4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. He was also hit by a pitch. Teammate Mason Hyman went 3 for 4 and a walk, two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs.

For North, Will Reber was 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Kenneth Robertson was 2 for 2 with three RBIs.

Robertson also picked up the win, pitching two innings with two strikeouts.

North will take on West at 8 p.m. Saturday to decide the winner of the North pool. Both teams will advance to bracket play beginning next week.

East squeaks past Franklin, advances to bracket play: Aaron Lopez made a game-saving catch with the bases loaded in the sixth inning and the Bryan East 11- and 12-year old boys team beat Franklin Bremond 2-1 in District 33 pool play Friday night at Bryan East.

Arthur Rivero struck out five and got the win for East. Teammates Mark Rhodes and Frank Chargualas each scored a run.

East finished pool play with a 2-1 record after beating College Station National 16-6 on Wednesday night, with Gabe Valles picking up the win.

West wins lightning-delayed game over Bonham: Alex Castaneda pitched a complete game to help the Bryan West 11- and 12-year-old boys beat Bryan Bonham 11-1 in four innings Friday night at Bryan North, making up their game from Wednesday that was postponed due to lightning.

Castaneda had seven strikeouts and had a double and an RBI at the plate. West had two players hit home runs Friday; Santiago Zamora hit a grand slam, and Darrien Williams hit a solo home run.

West's Cody Vega had two RBIs while Daniel Contreras was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Ben Rios reached base twice on bunts.

Bryan Harvey takes down West: The Bryan Harvey 11- and 12-year-old softball team beat Bryan West 19-2 on Friday night at Weedon Ballpark in District 33 action.

Harvey's Rebecca Pierce was the winning pitcher, going three innings and striking out six.

Taylor Curtis had a double, while Hilary Hoffman and Brittney Jones each had two singles. Erica Russell went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple for Harvey. Teammate Taylor Curtis had a double while Hilary Hoffman and Brittney Jones each went 2 for 3.

West wins, advances in Junior bracket: Marcus Solis pitched five shutout innings, leading Bryan West to a 14-3 victory over Bryan North in Junior Little League District 33 tournament action Friday night at Bryan East.

Solis allowed three hits and three walks to get the win. Fabian Gutierrez and Nicco Rueda closed out the game in relief for West.

Ray Taft led West offensively, going 2 for 4 with five RBIs. Teammate Luis Gonzales was 2 for 5 with three RBIs, and Oscar Ramirez was 2 for 5 with two RBIs.

West will play Bryan Bonham at 6 p.m. Sunday at Bryan East.
