LUBBOCK -- Attorneys for fired Texas Tech coach Mike Leach and the university held a court-ordered mediation session Friday but did not reach an agreement.
In a court filing, mediator Frank E. Murchison stated that mediation had not been completed and has been recessed "pending future scheduling."
The university fired Leach on Dec. 30, two days after suspending him amid allegations he mistreated a player who had a concussion. His suit includes allegations of libel, slander and breach of contract.
Leach has denied he mistreated receiver Adam James, who said his coach twice ordered him to stand for hours while confined in a dark place during practice.
Leach has said he suspects an $800,000 bonus he was to have received Dec. 31 was the reason he was fired.
