CENTERVILLE -- The Centerville Tigers couldn't overcome a couple of big plays in a tough 20-15 loss to Riesel on Friday.
Centerville gave up 144 of the 263 total rushing yards it allowed to Riesel on two touchdown runs in the first half.
Centerville's Jonathan Cloud tied the game at 7 in the first quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run. Cloud led the Tigers in rushing with 147 yards on 22 carries. Clay Hardee threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Seth Mahaffey for Centerville's final touchdown in the fourth quarter. Cloud ran in the conversion to cut Riesel's lead to five points.
Hardee was 9-for-17 passing with two interceptions while Mahaffey had three catches for 26 yards.
Centerville (0-4) will host Elkhart next week.
