IRVING -- Texas A&M sophomore Travis Starling was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Pitcher of the Week by a select media panel, the league office announced Monday.

Starling picked up a win and a save during A&M's sweep of Baylor this past weekend. It's the first time he's received the honor.

Starling is 6-0 with eight saves and a 2.22 ERA this season. He is five saves shy of tying the Aggie single season record of 13, set by Scott Beerer in 2003.
