Texas A&M Interim President R. Bowen Loftin is expected to make a major announcement today about a construction project on campus.
The remarks scheduled for 3:15 p.m. will be in the lobby of the Coke Building, across the street from the east side of Simpson Drill Field.
The announcement is expected to be about the humanities building. Its fate was undecided when a faculty member asked Loftin about it during a faculty senate meeting two weeks ago.
“Dr. Loftin’s announcement pertains to a major step forward in attaining one of the primary goals of Vision 2020, which outlines Texas A&M’s guidelines for attaining consensus Top-10 status among the nation’s public universities,” according to a statement.
