Event to honor new A&M provost

The Texas A&M University community is invited to a reception Tuesday to welcome Provost Jeffrey Vitter.

The reception, hosted by A&M President Elsa Murano and her husband, Peter Murano, is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. at the J. Wayne Stark University Center Galleries.

Vitter begins his duties as provost and executive vice president for academics Friday. He is replacing David Prior, who left last summer to take a higher-level position within the University of Texas System.
