Texas A&M University officials have finalized the rearranged December graduation plans to allow for President Bush to give the commencement address.
Bush will speak to all graduating students and their guests at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 12 in Reed Arena. Each student will be given two tickets to give to guests, and a limited number of tickets will be distributed to members of the university community.
Following Bush's speech, two smaller degree-granting exercises will be held at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. A third ceremony will take place Dec. 13 at 9 a.m.
Future A&M commencements will follow a similar pattern, university officials said.
"In addition to giving all degree candidates the opportunity to hear an address by a nationally or internationally prominent leader, the degree granting exercises will be shortened, which has been a long-term goal supported by students, faculty, staff and the administration," Texas A&M President Elsa Murano said in a statement announcing the changes.
