A Nobel laureate will be the commencement speaker for Texas A&M University's fall graduation.
Dudley Herschbach, a Texas A&M physics and chemistry professor, will speak at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 in Rudder Theatre.
The San Jose, Calif.-native won the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1986. He joined the Texas A&M faculty in 2005, after serving on Harvard University's faculty for four decades.
"We are doubly fortunate to have Dr. Herschbach on our faculty," said Texas A&M Interim President R. Bowen Loftin in a prepared statement. "Not only is he a world-renowned scientist, but he is also a gifted speaker."
