The Texas A&M System Board of Regents are expected to meet Tuesday via conference call to discuss appointing a new president at its campus in Kingsville.
The conference call is expected to begin at 9 a.m. in the board meeting room in the Memorial Student Center.
According to the meeting agenda posted Friday, the panel is expected to immediately recess to closed session regarding the appointment of Steven Tallant as president of Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
Tallant, vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, was tapped earlier this month as the sole finalist for presidency. He is in line to replace Rumaldo Juárez, who is retired in June after six years as president.
Regents also are expected to grant development leave for Keith McFarland, the former president of Texas A&M University-Commerce who retired in July.
The panel was set to formally name Texas A&M's new track stadium as the Rhonda and Frosty Gilliam Jr. '80 Indoor Track Stadium.
