Miss Bethany Lynn Anderson and Mr. Kelly McNeil Layne were united in marriage on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at seven o'clock in the evening at Sacred Heart Church in Galveston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Michael J. Barrett. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at Hotel Galvez with music provided by Third Language of Austin, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard K. Anderson of College Station, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jeffrey of Freeport, Illinois, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Anderson of Rockford, Illinois.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. Layne of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Hugh Pickett of Houston, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Madison of Plantersville, Texas, and Mr. Harold Layne and the late Mrs. Patricia Layne of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless wedding gown of ivory silk designed by Vera Wang. She wore a Regalia headpiece of Austrian crystals, which held a double layer cathedral length veil of ivory illusion. She carried a hand tied bouquet of white roses and tulips.
Sister of the bride, Alyson Leigh Berlin of Houston, Texas, served as the Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were sisters of the groom, Caroline Leigh Layne and Margaret Elizabeth Layne of Houston, Texas, and Stephanie Anne Layne of Fort Worth, Texas, and friends of the bride, Hannah Kathleen Bomar of Houston, Texas, Codi Richardson Kingman of Dallas, Texas, Lauren Elizabeth Lister and Callie Alaina Loden of Houston, Texas, and Sara Rigney Sharpe of San Antonio, Texas. Members of the house party included friends of the bride, Katherine Leigh Haegelin of Austin, Texas, and Amanda Elizabeth McKay of Kilgore, Texas, and friend of the groom, Elizabeth Langston Parsley of San Diego, California. Flower girls were cousins of the groom, Rachel Claire Pickett and Audrey Grace Pickett of Houston, Texas.
Brothers of the groom, Christopher Corey Layne and Kevin Benjamin Layne of Houston, Texas, served as the Best Men. Groomsmen were brother in law of the bride, Jason Dean Berlin of Houston, Texas, and friends of the groom, Chase Cordell Booth of Dallas, Texas, Clinton Hays Frease, Andrew Byron Meyers, Thomas Edward Owen, and Ryan Allen Watson of Houston, Texas, and William Gambill Whitsitt, IV, of Dallas, Texas. Ushers included brother of the bride, Zane Jeffrey Anderson of Bryan, Texas, and cousins of the groom, Brian Adam Ramm of Galveston, Texas, and Jason Andrew Ramm of Seabrook, Texas. Ring bearers were nephews of the bride, Jacob Thomas Berlin and Zachary Anderson Berlin of Houston, Texas.
Bethany is a 2001 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School and a 2006 graduate of the Professional Program in Accounting at Texas A&M University. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She is a certified public accountant employed by KPMG LLP in Houston, Texas.
Kelly is a 2001 graduate of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, Texas and a 2005 graduate of the Rawls School of Business at Texas Tech University. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He is a private equity real estate investor employed by The Lionstone Group in Houston, Texas.
Following a honeymoon to Lyford Cay in the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
