Allison Jean Barrett and Matthew Alan Wilson were united in marriage on September 19, 2009 at Piazza in the Village in Colleyville, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Ross Sawyers. Parents of the bride are Brian and Jeannie Barrett of College Station. Grandparents of the bride are Marye Barrett of Bryan and the late Delvin R. Barrett, Patsy Arnold of Dallas, and Fred and Susan Arnold of Durango, Colorado. Parents of the groom are Bruce and Marilynn Wilson of Grapevine. Grandparents of the groom are Richard and Carol Wilson of Flower Mound and the late Thomas and Mary Roberts, formerly of Irving.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Lindsey Barrett, of Dallas, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kellie Carter of Houston, Kelli Besancon of Boston, Whitney Morriss of Dallas, Ashlie Clark and Jennifer Barrett, both of Austin. Serving as Junior Bridesmaid was Allie Small of Southlake. The flower girl was Hannah Smeltzer of Grapevine, niece of the groom.
The best man was David Wilson, brother of the groom, of Irving. Other groomsmen were Thomas Wilson, brother of the groom, Brandon Smeltzer and Brett Huckins, all of Grapevine, Adam Fischer of Houston, Josiah Campbell and Paul Weinhold both of Irving. Serving as ushers were, Kyle Barrett, brother of the bride, Reese Gardell, Kevin Roberts and Charles Wilson all cousins of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a cocktail reception was held at the Piazza. Members of the house party were Shannon Smeltzer, Tracey Wilson, Kelley Wilson, Rachel Wilson, and Mary Kate Wilson, all sisters of the groom.
Allison is a 1999 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School and a 2003 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She also holds a masters degree in School Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She currently is employed by Carroll Independent School District as a third grade teacher. Matthew is a 1999 graduate of Covenant Christian Academy and a 2003 graduate of Southern Methodist University with a degree in Management Information Systems. He has a masters degree in Information Technology from the University of Dallas. He is currently employed by Gateway Church in Southlake.
Following a wedding trip to Maui, the couple currently resides in Irving, Texas.
