Jim and Elizabeth Baker Batson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married February 1, 1958 at First Baptist Church in Madisonville, Texas, by Rev. W. W. Baker. They have three children, Kim and husband, Scott Sutphen, Sandy and husband, Carl Walthall, and Wes and wife, Kim Batson, all of Bryan. They have been blessed with grandchildren, Stephen and wife, Elyse Sutphen, Sheldon Sutphen, Chris Walthall, Brandon Walthall, Kaitlynn Batson, Kyle Batson and Kaleb Batson, and one great-grandson, Joshua Sutphen, all of Bryan.
Jim started in the automotive business in Bryan-College Station in 1960 and was the owner of Batson Tire Center and the Farm Bureau Tire Dealer for over 25 years. Liz retired from the nursing profession. They have been active members of Central Baptist Church for over 40 years.
