Bell-Stogner Wedding

Bell-Stogner

Miss Kathryn Brooke Bell and Mr. Derek Clay Stogner were united in marriage on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 6:00 in the evening at the Church at Horseshoe Bay.  The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Johnny White.  Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Dr. Daniel Zamora, and a scripture was read by Mrs. Rachel Stogner of Dallas, sister-in-law of the groom.  Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a cocktail reception on the shores of Lake LBJ followed by dinner and dancing at the Yacht Club at Horseshoe Bay with music provided by The Argyles of Austin. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Yacht Club's Captain's Quarters.  A bridal luncheon was hosted prior to the wedding by Mrs. Anne Fields in her home on Applehead Island, Horseshoe Bay in honor of the bride and her bridesmaids.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Noell Vance of Bryan and Dr. Wilson G. Bell, Jr. of Brenham.  She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Oliver of Bryan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilson G. Bell of Luling.  The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Stogner of DeSoto.  He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Miller and Mrs. Delma Stogner, all of Picayune, MS and the late Advell Stogner.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an exquisite ivory couture lace and satin gown designed by Pronovias.  The strapless gown was hand beaded with sequins and pearls. The back was trimmed in lace and extended to a semi-cathedral train.  To compliment her gown, she wore a fingertip veil edged in satin soutache trim.  The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet beautifully composed of hot pink peonies, roses, mini callas, and pink ranunculus and finished with dupioni silk ribbon with a rhinestone broach detail.

Serving her sister as maid of honor was Kristen Bell of Austin.  Bridesmaids were Amie Killion, Erin Beckner and Katie Howard, all of Dallas.  The bride's cousin, Caroline Oliver of San Antonio served as junior bridesmaid.  Rachel Bourgeous of Houston and Meggan Spitzer of Austin made up the houseparty.

Blake Stogner of Dallas served his brother as best man.  Groomsmen were Wes Hardin, Grant Nowell, and Nolan Preston, all of Dallas.  Ushers were J.R. Reyna and Michael Dewey, both of Dallas.  The groom's cousins, Trey and Peyton Wells of Picayune, MS served as junior groomsman and ring bearer, respectively.

Katie is a 1999 graduate of Brenham High School. She graduated from Baylor University in 2003 with a degree in journalism and public relations and is employed as a manager in communications in the national office of the American Heart Association in Dallas.  Derek graduated from Duncanville High School in 1998 and received a masters of science in accounting from Texas A&M University in 2003.  He is a CPA with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas.

Following a honeymoon to Italy, Katie and Derek are residing in Dallas.
