Miss Brittainy Lee Daughtry and Mr. Mark Andrew Dennis were joyfully united in marriage on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at four o'clock in the afternoon at Second Baptist Church in Houston, TX. Reverend Sam Glass and Reverend Kyle Dennis, the groom's brother, both officiated the ceremony. Mrs. Katie Warren served as vocalist and Mrs. Vicky Brandt read scripture chosen by the couple. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Houston City Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Michael Daughtry of Houston. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Daughtry and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Vaughan, all of Houston. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Maurice E. Dennis III of College Station. Grandparents of the groom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Maurice E. Dennis, Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Dale Kile.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father the bride wore an ivory silk satin Audrey Hart gown. The fitted bodice was accented with beautiful beadwork which was duplicated on the delicate custom-made tulle straps. The bride wore an ivory blusher with an ivory cathedral veil accented with Swarovski crystals. Her mother's baby ring was woven into her hand tied bouquet of ivory Vendela roses, Lisianthus and Freesia.
Attending the bride as Maid of Honor was Miss Melissa Fitzgerald of Houston. Bridesmaids included Miss Megan Brandt of Carrollton, Mrs. Ashley Walker Combs of League City, Mrs. Lindsey Hall Daniels of Houston, Miss Megan Fitzgerald of Stillwater, OK and Mrs. Kathyrn Beard Hill of Houston.
The flower girl was Miss Annie Holt and the ring bearers were Master Garrett Dennis and Master Michael Lee. The junior bridesmaids were Miss Carol Margaret Batdorf, Miss Allison Dennis, Miss Ashley Dennis, Miss Stella Holt, Miss Rachel Lee, and Miss MacKenzie Parish.
Miss Elizabeth Cleveland of Houston, Miss Lauren DiScioscia of Houston, and Miss Joy Willoughby of Houston, served as greeters.
Brother of the groom, Mr. Stephen Dennis, of Montgomery, served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Mr. Neal Lee of Bryan, cousin of the groom, Mr. Mourad Badir of Beaumont, Major (S) Adam Barrett of Del Rio, Mr. Drew Daniels of Houston, and Mr. Travis Rudolph of Dallas.
Mr. Christopher Daughtry, brother of the bride, Mr. Ryan Haislup, Mr. Donald Nesting, Mr. Joshua Walker, and Mr. Kyle Watkins, all of Houston, served as ushers.
Brittainy is a 2006 graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is an elementary school teacher in Houston.
Mark is a 2000 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution. He is a project manager for Jones Lang LaSalle in Houston.
Following a honeymoon to Puerto Morelos, Mexico, the couple resides in Houston.
