Miss Lynzie Janette Jarrott-McNew and Mr. Earl Brantley Hickerson were united in marriage on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at six thirty o’clock in the evening at First Baptist Church in Bryan. Pastor Tim Owens officiated for the traditional double ring ceremony. Scripture readings were given by cousins of the groom, Ashley Winton of Greensboro, N.C., and Alison Porter of Bryan. Music for the ceremony was provided by Mrs. Janis Wiman, organist. She was accompanied by vocal soloist, Dr. J. T. Lamar McNew Jr., grandfather of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Kyle and Michele McNew of Bryan. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sammy C. Cook, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Jarrott, Dr. and Mrs. J. T. Lamar McNew Jr., Dr. Elizabeth Miller and the late Mr. Robert W. Rudasill.
The groom is the son of Dick and Alice Hickerson of the Brazos Bottom. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl B. Porter and Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Hickerson.
Cousin of the bride, Kelley McDonald of Phoenix, Ariz., served as matron of honor. The best friend of the bride, Jennifer Wilks of Bryan, and childhood best friend, Amy Cooke of Houston, served as maids of honor. The bridesmaids were the bride’s sister, Kristen Jarrott of Caldwell; cousins of the groom, Stephanie Blackwell of Houston, Courtney Epstein of Jacksonville, Ark., and Tory Porter of Marble Falls; and close friend of the bride, Patty Mora of Bryan. Cousins of the bride and groom, Grace McGuire of Montgomery and Olivia Winton of North Carolina, served as flower girls. House party members were cousins of the bride, Ashley Miller and Heather Miller, both of Houston; cousins of the groom, Lynn Harrison of Houston and LeeAnn Moore of Bellaire; and close friend of the bride, Courtney Cooke of College Station.
Serving as the groom’s best men were his brother, Rick Hickerson of College Station, and his father, Dick Hickerson of the Brazos Bottom. Groomsmen were the groom’s cousins, John Andrew Nash of Waco, Stephen Nash of San Francisco and Nash Porter of Bryan; friends of the groom, Blanton Beard of Bryan and Michael Werlinger of Hearne; and cousin of the bride, Koby Rudasill of College Station. Cousins of the bride, Miller and Murphy McNew, both of Houston, served as ring bearers. Ushers were the uncle of the bride, Clay Rudasill of Plano, Texas; cousin of the bride, Tyler Rudasill of Bryan; and cousins of the groom, Michael Roebuck of Houston and Matthew Winton of Greensboro, N.C.
Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a reception at Briarcrest Country Club. Guests enjoyed dining and dancing to music provided by the South 6 Band. The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding at The Greenbranch Ranch in Bryan.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Navasota High School and a 2005 graduate of Blinn College. She is employed with the Texas Engineering Extension Service in College Station. The groom is a 1997 graduate of Allen Academy, attended Howard Payne University, and is currently a student at Blinn College. He is employed with Advanced Computer Systems in College Station.
The newlyweds will honeymoon this December in Florida and reside in Bryan.
