Mr. and Mrs. David A. Konderla of Bryan celebrated their Golden Anniversary on June 7th, 2008. On this date fifty years ago, the young couple exchanged wedding vows and made their lifelong commitment to each other at Our Lady of Fatima in Daingerfield, Texas.
Before David and Ann embarked on their new future as husband and wife, which would eventually include raising their twelve children, they completed their goals in higher education. David graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of Business degree from Texas A&M University. Ann received her Registered Nursing degree in 1958 from St. Paul School of Nursing in Dallas. In 1990, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree at St. Joseph's College in Windham, Maine.
This February, the couple enjoyed a special Anniversary gift given to them by their children's families. They spent eleven days on a pilgrimage through Portugal, Spain and France.
In honor of the couple, their children, twenty-one grandchildren and many other family and friends joined with them to celebrate the Eucharist and to renew their vows at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a reception afterwards at St. Mary Catholic Center.
All who know the couple have been blessed to be able to see such a dedicated and wonderful example of two people who care for each other, who are committed to each other and who share a devotion and faith to our Lord that has carried them through these last 50 years of marriage. “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”, Jeremiah 29:11
We love you Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa! Above all, you have shown us how to serve the Lord all the days of our life; in marriage, in parenting, and in loving others around us!
