Sarah Ann Murphy and Scott Buckley Pustay were joyfully united in marriage on September 5, 2009 at the Kincaid Chalet in Anchorage, Alaska. Guests enjoyed a view of Mount McKinley, some 175 miles distant.
Sarah is the daughter of John and Kelly Murphy and Dean and Kathryn Konopasek, all of Anchorage, Alaska. Scott is the son of Michael and Zandra Pustay of College Station, Texas.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a halter style gown of iridescent satin and tulle. Attending the bride as maid-of-honor was Katherine Pustay, sister of the groom, of Washington, DC. Bridesmaids included Ashley Clement of Dallas, Texas, Erin Ellis of Seattle, Washington, Christina Rosenberger of Boston, Massachusetts, and Amber Stubbs of Anchorage, Alaska.
The best man was Brian Murphy, brother of the bride, of Anchorage, Alaska. Groomsmen included, Cyrus Clark IV, of Prospect, Connecticut, Samuel Haddon of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Gregory Stubbs of Anchorage, Alaska.
A reception was held at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art. A rehearsal dinner on Friday evening was hosted by the groom's parents at the Kincaid Chalet.
Sarah received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Psychology from Harvard University, where she was a member of the swim team. She is currently in her fourth year of medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Scott is a 1997 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University, where he rowed crew. He earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from George Washington University. He works as a software developer for a green energy company in Alaska.
The couple's honeymoon trip was to the island of Maui, Hawaii. They now reside in Anchorage, Alaska.
