Miss Rachel Ann Scott and Mr. Richard Bret Page were united in marriage on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at one thirty in the afternoon at Cy-Fair Christian Church in Houston, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Dr. James Lawrence of San Francisco, California, uncle of the groom. The bride is the daughter of Cecil & Linda Scott of Alvin, Texas. She is the grand daughter of Cecil and the late Betty Abney of Alvin Texas, and the late Cecil A. Scott and the late Alice Guidry of Alvin, Texas. The groom is the son of Rick & Cheryl Page of Bryan, Texas. He is the grandson of Jean Lawrence of Houston, Texas and the late F. Les Lawrence, and the late E.G. “Jack” and Mildred “Billie” Page of Livingston, Texas.
College friends Rebecca Daniel of The Woodlands, Texas and Karlee Butler of Dallas, Texas served as maids-of-honor. Bridesmaids were childhood friends Tanessa Crawford of Alvin, Texas and Julie Goodson of Los Angeles, California, and Hilary Page of Moscow, Russia, sister of the groom. Nieces of the bride, Havyn Scott and Kynli Scott of Alvin TX served as flower girls. Nephew of the bride, Landon Scott of Alvin, Texas was ringbearer. The bride's aunt, Mechelle Abney of Boston, Massachusetts, read the Bible scripture. Childhood friend John Blanchard of The Woodlands, Texas served as best man. Groomsmen included college friends and teammates Chad Starnes of Magnolia, Texas, and Brian Blair of San Antonio, Texas. Other groomsmen included brothers of the bride, Jason Scott and Joshua Scott, both of Alvin, Texas. Ushers were friends and work colleagues Brian Tudman of The Woodlands, Texas and Damon Liverett of San Antonio, Texas. The reception followed at the church gymnasium. Reception decorations were provided by Lisa Rabren of Fairhope, Alabama, aunt of the groom, and by Lupe Riviera of Magnolia, Texas, friend of the bride.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Alvin High School, and received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Sam Houston State University in 2005. The groom is a 2001 graduate of Bryan High School, and received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2005. The couple now resides in San Antonio, Texas, where he teaches and coaches at Churchill High School and she teaches at Driggers Elementary School.
