Stephen-Riggs Wedding

Miss Suzanne Carol Stephen and Mr. Michael Douglas Riggs were united in marriage on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at six o'clock in the evening on the scenic beachfront of the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Hotel in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. Following the double ring ceremony, a dinner reception was held in the Bamboo Room of the Hotel. Guests enjoyed a festive evening of dancing and the music of an island guitarist. On the eve of the wedding a family dinner, hosted by the bride and groom, was held at the Junkanoo Restaurant.  Earlier this year, the bride and groom, the bride's parents and the groom's mother traveled to Paris, France to attend a dinner cruise down the Seine, hosted by the groom's family.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Stephen of Bryan, Texas.  She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. R. McCullough of Bryan, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stephen of Eastland, Texas.  The groom is the son of Mrs. Annie Marie Wohadlo and step father, Raymond Allen Wohadlo of Houston, Texas and the late Robert H. Riggs. He is the grandson of Mr. Maurice Durousseaud and the late Andree Loche Durousseaud of Marseille, France and Master Sergeant Lexi Clinton and the late Bernice Mae Clinton of Hammond, Indiana.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected an exquisite lace gown from the Melissa Sweet Vineyard Collection, designed by Priscilla of Boston.

Those attending were Mr. Brian Stephen, brother of the bride, his wife, Leslie Stephen, Brinson, Callie and Lacy Stephen, nieces of the bride and Cade Stephen, nephew of the bride; Mr. Brad Stephen, brother of the bride; Dr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson, aunt and uncle of the bride, all of Bryan, Texas; the bride's godmother, Ms. Suzanne Leatherwood and Mr. Stan Smith; Mrs. Jessica Ann Dever, sister of the groom, her husband, Douglas Clay Dever and Stephen Robert Patton, nephew of the groom; Mrs. Carole Placzek, sister of the groom, her husband, Phillip Placzek and Adriane and Erica Riggs, nieces of the groom; Mr. Raymond Addison Wohadlo, step brother of the groom and wife, Cristina Garcia Wohadlo, all of Houston, Texas; Ms. Jacqueline Wohadlo, step sister of the groom of San Diego, California;  Mr. and Mrs. Jacques Durousseaud, aunt and uncle of the groom of Paris, France and Mrs. Harriett Wohadlo of Chicago, Illinois.

Suzanne is a graduate of Bryan High School and a 1997 graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development. She is currently obtaining her teacher certification and in August will begin teaching in Houston, Texas.

Michael is a graduate of Strake Jesuit High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.  He is employed with Kalmans Marshall Engineering, Inc. of Houston, Texas.

After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the bride and groom now reside in Houston, Texas.
