Wright 50th Anniversary

Wright 50th

Drs. Arthur and Nancy Wright celebrated their 50th anniversary on August 21, 2010. The couple was married in 1960 in the First Christian Church in Carthage, Illinois. They are longtime members of the First Christian Church in Bryan. After receiving his doctorate from the University of Missouri, Arthur was a Research Economist with the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas. Later he became affiliated with Texas A&M University and, over the years, was an economist in the Industrial Economics Research Division and Texas Real Estate Center, and an adjunct professor in the Department of Agricultural Economies. After retirement from Texas A&M University, Arthur became active in real estate investments and was one of the founders of the Brazos Valley Bank.

Nancy received her doctorate from Texas A&M University in 1975. She has taught English at Blinn College for 33 years and is the Chair of the Humanities Division. She will retire in September after a 50 year teaching career on the college level.

The Wrights have one son, John Arthur, and twin grandchildren, Katherine Grace and Randall Aaron, of Oakland, Ca. The couple celebrated at a party with family and friends.
