A 54-year-old man remained jailed Monday morning after being accused of being drunk when he caused a weekend wreck in Brazos County.

Bedias resident Rickey Wilson was charged Sunday with intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury, which is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper responded at 9 p.m. to the wreck on Texas 30, and reported finding Wilson in the driver's seat with a can of an alcoholic beverage next to his feet. It wasn't immediately clear how many vehicles were involved or who was injured.

Wilson showed signs of intoxication and performed poorly on a sobriety test, according to a police report.

He remained Monday afternoon in the Brazos County Jail in lieu of $9,000 bail.
