Laura Lee Schielack and Bisente (BJ) Mendez, Jr., were united in marriage on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in College Station with Deacon Frank Ashley officiating. Parents of the bride are Vince and Janie Schielack of Bryan. Grandparents of the bride are Rita and Chico Valadez of Caldwell, Doris Faith of Bryan, the late Bob Faith and the late Schielack. Parents of the groom are Bisente and Lupe Mendez of Bryan. Grandparents of the groom are Guadalupe and Nellie Garcia of Uvalde, Texas, the late Anita Fonseca of Austin, the late Joe Lozano of Austin, and the late Feliciano and Refugia Mendez of Mexico.
The matron of honor was Holli Niemeyer, friend of the bride, of Allen, Texas. The bride’s attendants were Melissa Cammack, Michelle Knesek, Natalie Schielack, Adrienne Bentz, and Justin Anderson. The flower girl was Rylee Callaway.
The best man was Alfred Macias, friend of the groom, of Bryan. Groomsmen were Vince Schielack III, Robert Callaway, Shea Contreras, Brandon Taylor, Javier Lopez, Gabriel Carcia, John Adam Niemeyer, David Prescott, and James Brau. The ring bearers were Trey and Cole Bentz.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Parish Activity Center of the Church. A rehearsal dinner, hosted the night before by the Bentz Family, was held at the Outback Steakhouse in College Station.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Bryan High School, a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M University with a major in Marketing, and a 2011 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Master’s in Library Science. Laura is employed as the Professional Development Specialist at Sam Houston Elementary in Bryan.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Bryan High School and 2010 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a major in Criminal Justice. BJ is employed as a Police Officer in Franklin.
After a honeymoon in Colorado, the couple makes their home in Bryan.
