Middleton 60th
Bobbie and Robert (Bob) Middleton of College Station met sixty-two years ago while she was a student at Sam Houston State Teacher’s College and he was at The A&M College of Texas. Immediatley after graduation, Bob reported for duty in the United States Army during the Korean War and was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia. At the end of that year, they were married and went to Fort Ord, California. From there, Bob as sent to Korea. When he returned home, he worked for Mobil Corporation until his retirement.
They were married on December 26th, 1951 at the First Methodist Church in Palacios, Matagorda County, Texas and are celebrating 60 years of marriage.
Their family has been blessed with two daughters: Debbie and John Richards and Kathy Hudson, and four grandchildren and their spouses: Lance and Rachel Richards, Brian and Kristen Richards, Kelli and Diego Ramirez, Eric and bride-to-be, Sarah Coker.
They were able to live in and travel to many places in the United States, and the rest of the world throughout their marriage. After retiring, they spent a few years living in Bay City, and in 2003 relocated to College Station where they now happily reside. They are members of A&M United Methodist Church.
Their grandchildren have made plans for a celebration of their marriage.
