* Volunteers are needed for the Sunshine Auxiliary, which serves the College Station Medical Center by assisting patients, visitors and staff. Through funds raised in its gift shop, Sunshine Auxiliary volunteers also have provided 100 health-care scholarships totaling more than $100,000 over the past 10 years.

* Good Drivers for a Good Cause provides transportation for Grimes, Leon, Madison and Burleson County residents to health-related appointments. Volunteers use supplied minivans or buses, or a personal vehicle.
Drivers transport senior citizens and others in need to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, the pharmacy and senior centers. Some trips are scheduled for outside the county, but volunteer drivers can choose where and when they can serve.
Volunteers must have a valid driver license and pass a criminal background check. * Sexual Assault Resource Center Agency volunteers are needed to work with office staff on administrative duties. Projects for volunteers include folding brochures, filing, making care packages, designing fliers and posters and assisting staff during presentations and health fairs.
Volunteers must submit an application, visit the office for an interview and pass a background check. No formal training is required. Agency volunteers are asked to commit to a few hours per month. Call 731-1000 to learn more.
* Food distribution volunteers are needed at the Bedias Food Pantry, 3202 Main St., in Bedias. Volunteers help unload, box, bag and hand out food items.
The Food Pantry is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month. The truck from the Brazos Valley Food Bank arrives on the Wednesday before the third Saturday.

* Volunteer library assistants are needed at the Bedias Library and Museum to greet patrons, catalog and shelve books and assist with checking books in and out. The museum is also seeking volunteers with artifact preservation knowledge to assist with donations to the museum.

* Health For All is a community supported clinic that relies on volunteers of all types, including medical professionals, students and senior citizens. Health for All delivers services at a low cost thanks to a small staff and a large number of volunteers and community partners. By providing an alternative to expensive emergency room visits for the uninsured, Health For All saves Brazos Valley hospitals and taxpayers millions of dollars each year.
Medical office assistant volunteers help maintain patient records, assist with scheduling, order medications and help with other clinic tasks. Spanish-speaking volunteers are needed to serve as translators.
