Katt-Probst
Lindsey Colleen Katt, of College Station, and Gregory Keith Propst, Jr., of McAllen were united in marriage on Saturday, January 7, 2012, in the Ashelynn Manor Chapel in Magnolia, Texas. Dr. Ben Welch of College Station officiated the double ring ceremony. Jane Rankin, friend of the bride, performed a special reading during the ceremony written specifically for the bride and groom.
Immediately following the ceremony, family and friends joined the bride and groom and their parents in a dinner reception and dance in the Ashelynn Manor Carriage House.
The bride is the daughter of Gregory A. and Terresa Katt of College Station, and the granddaughter of Shirley Payne and the late E. Lewis Payne of Baytown, Texas, and the late Gilbert and Bernice Katt of San Antonio, Texas. The groom is the son of Gregory K. and Sandra Propst, Sr. and the grandson of Kenneth and Geraldine Scott of Weslaco, Texas, and Irving and the late Catherine Propst of McAllen, Texas.
The bride wore a custom designed, handmade couture gown by James Clifford of New York. The white/spun gold strapless satin, illusion and lace modified mermaid gown had a sweetheart neckline trimmed with satin, pleated satin back bodice featuring covered buttons and a bow with trailing ribbon. The hand beaded lace appliqued bodice with Swarovski crystals, with matching lace applique cascaded down the skirt to a scalloped hemline and chapel length train. The bride complemented the gown with a pearl and crystal headpiece; and a single strand of pearls and pearl and diamond earrings given to her by her parents. She also wore a pearl and diamond bracelet which was a gift from the groom. To complete her attire, the bride wore a handmade garter of crystals, beads, pearls and lace matching her gown, which was hand stitched by her grandmother from the wedding gowns of her mother, her grandmothers and great grandmother. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of mini white calla lilies, white stephanotum and white roses, which was accented with deep purple freesia. She also carried her her grandmother’s mothers ring as part of her bouquet.
The bridesmaids wore eggplant colored, satin cocktail length dresses accented at the waist with a charcoal sash as they carried a hand-tied bouquet of jewel toned white roses and green chrysanthemums wrapped in kiwi green satin ribbon.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Her father escorted her down the aisle to the song, “Marry Me,” by Train performed by harpist Sara Shute. Attending as maid of honor, was Amanda Banks, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids included Allison Weinberg, friend of the bride, Lacey McCain, cousin of the bride, Leah Pitkin, cousin of the bride, Kristen Phillips, friend of the bride, and Sarah Lohmeyer, friend of the bride. Abby Green, friend of the bride was the flower girl, and Morgan Green, friend of the bride was a Junior Bridesmaid.
Serving the groom was Best Man, Matthew Propst, brother of the groom. Groomsmen included Zachary Propst, brother of the groom, Raul Cervantes, friend of the groom, Brian Emig, friend of the groom, Chris Propst, cousin of the groom, Eric Propst, cousin of the groom and Brian Katt, cousin of the bride. The ring bearers were Hayden Baillio, cousin of the bride, Zachary Baillio, cousin of the bride and Noah Marx, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Brandon Watkins, cousin of the bride, Ryan Watkins, cousin of the bride, Bryan Emanuel, cousin of the groom and Daryl Emanuel, cousin of the groom.
Lindsey graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology in 2009. Gregory also graduated in 2009 from Texas A&M with a Master's in Exercise Physiology.
Following a honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico, both Lindsey and Gregory will return to clinical rotations in the Austin area to complete their studies in Physical Therapy. They expect to graduate in May of 2012 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas State University.
