A 62-year-old Bryan man Wednesday was released from Brazos County Jail after posting $15,000 for a third or more drunk-driving charge.
Steven Alan Bethea, who's listed as the director of homeless programs for Twin City Mission, was arrested after his car struck three other vehicles, causing a traffic jam on Harvey Mitchell Parkway Tuesday night, police said.
Ron Crozier, spokesman for the local non-profit organization, said agency policy prevented him from discussing the incident or Bethea's current employee status.
According to police records, Bethea had previously been convicted of two driving-while-intoxicated charges.
As a result, he faces a third-degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
His criminal background dates to 1980 and includes felony drug possession and burglary of a habitation convictions, according to court records.
