Bryan man gets 8 years for robbery
Eagle Staff Report
A Brazos County jury this week handed down an eight-year prison sentence for a 24-year-old Bryan man convicted of aggravated robbery.
Joseph Paul Madison was found guilty of robbing a convenience store clerk at gun point on March 29, 2010 at the Tigerland Express across from A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, according to police.
The two men accused of entering with Madison -- Corey Stewart and Joshua Evans-- are serving life in prison for killing a different clerk, 39-year-old Johannes Kinny, while robbing the same gas station four days after participating in the robbery for which Madison was convicted.
The clerk on duty during the robbery Madison was involved in told police that three men entered with two guns, demanded money from the cash register, then tied his hands and feet up before putting him into a closet.
One of the robbers struck the clerk in the head with the end of a shot gun, according to police.
When police showed her pictures of the men robbing the store taken from video surveillance, Evans' mother was able to identify Madison and her son.
