The Exxon Mobil Foundation's educational matching gift program has provided $15,000 to Blinn College for an endowed scholarship.
The company contributed the funds after a former Exxon Mobil employee gave $5,000, the college said in a news release.
The retiree has contributed to the college for three consecutive years, the college said. Gena Parsons, a spokeswoman for the Brenham-based college, said donors can designate how they want Blinn to use the funds.
The foundation, one of many that contribute to the college annually, provides a 3-to-1 match of donations up to $7,500 by Exxon Mobil employees, retirees, surviving spouses and directors.
The Blinn dental hygiene program also has received $4,000 from the company under the program in the past two years, according to the college.
Donations are made through the Blinn College Foundation. For more information on contributing to the college, call 830-4159.
