Scott & White Hospital recognized

Scott & White Memorial Hospital has been ranked among the top 100 hospitals for the sixth year in a row by a health care rating organization.

It was one of three Texas hospitals recognized.

The award from Thomson Reuters' Healthcare 100 Top Hospitals Benchmarks list for 2008 recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction, financial performance and operational efficiency.

The hospital was the only major teaching hospital in the state and health care institution in Central Texas to make the list, officials said.

Rankings were based on responses from patients at more than 2,700 hospitals across the nation that completed a federal government survey.
