Religion notes

Saturday

* St. Thomas Early Learning Center, 906 George Bush Drive in College Station, will hold a spring festival from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Attractions will include games, crafts, a petting zoo, a nature center and more.

Sunday

* Faith United Church (UCC) meets at the Brazos Center, 3232 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan. This Sunday's message is "Open Minds." Bible study of Psalm 150 begins at 9:15 a.m., fellowship follows at 10 a.m. and worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Guests are welcome.

* Christ United Methodist Church, 4201 Texas 6 in College Station, will celebrate the one-year anniversary of BiG House, its children's sanctuary, at 11 a.m. There will be worship and fellowship, and the Youth Band will perform. The public is invited.

* First Christian Church, 900 S. Ennis St. in Bryan, will hold its fourth Market Place Sunday beginning at 9:15 a.m. The marketplace will focus on Paul's visit to Ephesus and will feature booths for all ages with herbs, jewelry, crafts and storytelling. Morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Jesse Myers preaching on "Authentic Faith," based on Acts 19:1-41. Child care is provided.

* First United Methodist Church, 506 E. 28th St. in Bryan, will hold traditional worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matt Idom preaching. Sunday school classes meet at 9:45 a.m. Child care is provided for all worship services. For more information, log on to www.fumcbryan.org or call 779-1324.

* Peaceful Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1508 Congo St. in Bryan, will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. C.E. Jefferson Sr., and his wife's service to the church. The theme is 1 Timothy 5:17. At 10:15 a.m., Pastor Billy Green and Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church will be the special guests. At 3 p.m., Pastor Anthony Ross and Galilee Missionary Baptist Church will be the special guests. The public is invited.

Sunday and Monday

* Living Truth Church, 1100 North May St. in Madisonville, will host evangelist Robby Mitchell at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday. Mitchell has preached for more than 25 years. The public is invited.

May 3

* A&M Church of Christ, 2575 Texas 6 in College Station, will host Understanding Your Teenager, a three-hour program for parents and grandparents of teenagers and pre-teens, from 5 to 8 p.m. This seminar will be taught by nationally renowned youth expert and author Wayne Rice. The cost is $5 per person; seminar notebooks will be available for $3. Register at www.amyouth.net.
